Others biodiversity related conventions
There are more than 550 treaties and other agreements related to environmental issues, of which about 300 are implemented on a regional level.
Some of them deal only with biodiversity, while others are more general, and some are specialized in different areas which concern environmental issues but they integrate agreements, decisions, recommendations, or declarations which concern biodiversity issues.
The inventory of all these stipulations and multilateral agreements in environmental areas are proof that biodiversity has become a major issue in international relations.
France alone has an active role in this international context, not only because many conventions have been signed but also due to it's efforts to create bilateral and multilateral agreements and to encourage its implementation by it's partners.
Multilateral international agreement links are mentioned henceforth.
Concerning bilateral agreements, please refer to the chapter on technical and scientific cooperation.
